Responsive Design

Ling Valentine is the owner of Ling's Cars. According to Ling, she sold just over $35 million ($4 million US Dollars) of cars in 2008. Most of the content on the website is subjective as she bases most of the website about herself and her business. The car prices could be objective if they are fair market value.

Ling's goal is to sell and lease cars around the United Kingdom. She sells an assortment of vehicles on her site with all different makes and models. The website is setup to be funny and entertaining with the business.

Pros

Cons

There is some structure to this website, but it is not well-organized nor set up for responsive web design. Structure could be improved by using drop-down menus in a navigation bar. This will free up the clutter on the left side of the website. Second, a horizontal grid layout would be preferred. A cover photo can be put in at the top as well as information about the business. Ling is currently the face of the business with pictures all over the site. Pictures of inventory, a showroom, or a logo should be used. The website could display a page of happy customers with testimonials about the business. Pictures should be fluid throughout the website alone with the text floating around pictures. There should be a privacy policy and terms of use policy in the footer. In addition, any additional information about the site should be put in the footer.

As the website currently stands, it is not effective for users. There are many links to other relative pages on the website. The menu options need to be condensed and some of them should be deleted. A complete redesign of the website is needed to make an impression on users whether they visit on a desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone and needs to follow Responsive Design Wed Guidelines.
