Meet Hello Kitty!

Kitty White, most known as Hello Kitty, is a white Japanese bobtail cat who’s fond of wearing a red bow in her left ear. She was born on November 1st and raised in the suburbs of London, England. She lives with her parents, Mama and Papa, and her twin sister, Mimmy. She has many friends and admirers, and her signature catchphrase is:

"You can never have too many friends!"

As she is often described as kind-hearted and sweet, Hello Kitty makes friends very easily! In her spare time, she likes to bake cookies and travel. Her favorite food is Mama’s apple pie and her favorite place to travel is Japan. She also collects cute things, which can range from seashells from the beach to trinkets from her friends.

History

Hello Kitty was created by Yuko Shimizu for the Sanrio brand in 1974, and made her first debut on a vinyl coin purse in Japan. Many were instantly attached to her cute likeness, making the coin purse the highest selling item of the company that year! Since then, Hello Kitty’s cuteness has been recognized all over the world and to this day, she remains an icon in cute culture.
