Made in Kevin Flynn’s image, C.L.U. (Codified Likeness Utility) was tasked to simply
create the perfect system. However, whether acting towards this goal or influenced
by corruption in his code, C.L.U. Stages a successful coup against Kevin, forcing
him to hide in the outer reaches of THE GRID in solitude. C.L.U. governs THE GRID
by forcing programs who disobey him to play dangerous video game like sports.
