Module 11 Reflection and FTP Assignment
Description: In this assignment you will create a new Web page which includes your reflections of the course to date. You will then upload your page to your personal space on the ECC server, using an FTP client of your choice.
Please take a moment to recall ideas, techniques, strategies, and tactics we've covered or discussed ---plus those you've thought up--- to this point in the course. Then, write an essay in response to the following questions:
- How much did you know about the subject of Internet Publishing before you started this course? Had you ever done any similar kind of work in the past?
- How would you explain the course to someone else?
- Describe at least two things you learned or discovered through completing the assigned activities.
- What personal knowledge and skills did you discover or acquire during this experience that will assist you in your future endeavors?
- What problems have you encountered while working on assignments? How did you solve them?
- What resources have you used while working on assignments in this course? Which ones were especially helpful? Which ones would you use again?
Note: I would recommend writing your essay in a Word processor prior to creating your web page.
Your page should include the following:
- Your web page should be named index.html.
- A page title which includes your name.
- List the course title and date within HTML comment tags.
- All content on the page should be placed within a div tag.
- Style the div with an ID, using the following properties: #main {width: 85%; margin: auto;}
- Format the first line in your page as a Heading 1.
- Your page should contain several paragraphs.
- All text on your page should be formatted using embedded styles; be sure to declare a font-family.
- An absolute link to the ECC Web site - use the target="_blank" attribute
Once you have completed your page, upload your file(s) to your student web site folder, using an FTP client of your choice. See instructions in D2L for server login information.
After you have uploaded the file, and you are ready for it to be graded, create a Word document indicating that you have completed the assignment, and then submit it into the Module 11 FTP Exercise dropbox folder. Be sure to text your page before submitting for grading. Have you figured out the URL to view your page? The domain name is studentweb.elgin.edu, and your folder name is your username. So, using my username as an example, the URL would be https://studentweb.elgin.edu/tray3387/.
