- Torgo (Manos: The Hands of Fate,1966)
Max Cherry (Jackie Brown, 1997):
"Half a million dollars will always be missed"

Favorite Film
Jackie Brown
The quotes I chose are the first three that came to mind when thinking about this assignment. The quote from the character Torgo is from an old B-movie named "Manos: The Hands of Fate". It's one of my favorite quotes because of how much comedic value it has. My friends and I quote this all the time for different reasons. Manos is not a good movie, but it has given my friends and me many laughs since we watched it.
When Max Cherry says "Half a million dollars will always be missed.". he's touching on something he doesn't think the main character, Jackie, is thinking about. It's a quote from my favorite movie Jackie Brown. The quote summed up my thoughts about Jackie's plan.
In Kill Bill Volume 1, the final fight between Beatrix Kiddo and O'ren Ishii is an emotional rollercoaster.
Until this point, there is no indication that O'ren was anything more than just another name on the "Death List".
After the interaction with Beatrix and O'ren, we see that their relationship goes deeper than what we've seen so far.
We have two old friends about to kill each other, and even though Beatrix ends up at O'ren's mercy, O'ren gives her the
chance to get back on her feet. And the line she says. the quote I provided, shows you that there is still some part
of O'ren that doesn't want to kill Beatrix.
Jackie Brown
If you were to ask me what my favorite movie is, my answer would always be an immediate "Jackie Brown". Ever since the first time I watched it, it has always been my answer. The story is filled with intense moments and interesting characters. This film proves that a movie with no real action scenes or overplayed dramatic events can still be more interesting than those with those kinds of moments. I don't want to discuss it too much, because it's a movie I think everyone should see and experience with as few preconceptions as possible.
