Life is the way we want it to be.
Originally Italian: "La vita è come vogliamo che sia."
-Rome, Open City (1945)
I liked this quote because it states that our lives are more dependent on our own actions and perspective than anything else. In the movie, one of the characters says this in an argument with another who responds with “Words! Life is an ugly dirty thing.”(Italian: “Parole! La vita è una cosa brutta, sporca.”)
The happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts
-Marcus Aurelius (Roman emperor and philosopher), Meditations
Like the last quote, this one shows that your outlook on like is mostly dependent on your perception of it. This is also something that we have near total control of. That is to say, in most cases your life is as good as you see it.
Keep Out. Or Enter. I'm a sign, not a cop
-The Simpsons
This one just made me laugh. I have two serious quotes on here so why not finish with some comic relief?
It's hard to say exactly what it is that I like so so much about this movie. I think a big part of it is just that Forrest takes part in so many major events in history but doesn't seem to fully appriciate their importance. He has a sort of innocence to him and despite how terrible some people are to him he never stops being a kind and gentle person.
